Footprint in the Snow is the debut solo performance by circus artist Laura Moy.
The unexpected loss of a loved one can leave the bereaved feeling silenced and isolated. Grief has the power to change us, and the world around us can become unrecognizable. Navigating this new reality often feels impossible, and words fail us.
Drawing from her own surreal experience as an aerialist in contemporary circus, Laura explores the delicate balance between precision and control in a suspended reality, set against the disorientation and unpredictability of traumatic grief.
For Laura, hanging by an elbow six metres in the air was the only place that felt safe.
Footprint in the Snow combines poetic movement and fluid body language on the pole, accompanied by a beautiful original score. The piece evolved collaboratively, shaped by the experiences and input of all artists involved.
This deeply personal work attempts to give form to the agony of grief and its transformative power.
Footprint in The Snow is produced by Yellow Everything.
